Done Deal in Dunboyne as Public Auction sees land sold for €620,000 (over €21,000 per acre).

Approx. 29 acres at Bogganstown, Dunboyne,

Co. Meath

Coonan Property recorded a sale of land by Public Auction on Thursday 17th September 2020, where c. 29 acres of agricultural land went under the gavel in an exciting auction.  The prime parcel of property was much sought after and sold for €620,000 (over €21,000 per acre).

The event was originally scheduled to happen in March but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to lockdown. It was subsequently held in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth. There was an excellent turnout on the day with safety measures adhered to at all times in keeping with the current Covid 19 guidelines.  It seems the superb September afternoon was a winning choice as the auction was a huge success.

There were 4 active bidders on the day. The opening bid was placed at €370,000.  Bidding proceeded in increments of €5k – €10k until a figure of €610,000 was reached.  The property was then placed on the open market whereby it sold at the price of €620,000.  The property was purchased in trust and we at Coonan Property would like to take this opportunity to wish the purchasers well for the future with their purchase.

Will Coonan commented after the sale that “This is a well positioned piece of land located between Dunboyne and Maynooth with extensive road frontage offers great potential.  We are continuing to see a strong demand for such holdings and anticipate this will remain the case as agricultural land is seen fundamentally as a very solid investment”.

Solicitors acting for the vendor were Mr. Dermot P. Coyne of Dermot P. Coyne Solicitors, Liffey Bridge House, 1 Main Street, Lucan, Co. Dublin.
