No red herrings as stunning ‘Queen Anne’ style home sells for €1,180,000

Period Property at Marshfield House, Leixlip, Co. Kildare

Coonan Property recorded a sale of property by Public Auction on Wednesday 7th October 2020, where the superb Marshfield House sold for €1,180,000 in what transpired to be an extremely successful auction.

The event was held at the property due to the newly imposed Level 3 restrictions. All safety measures were adhered to on the afternoon in keeping with the current Covid 19 guidelines. Many interested parties took the bait as this riverside home with fishing rights on the Liffey went under the gavel.

There were 4 active bidders on the day. The opening bid was placed at €850,000. Bidding proceeded in increments of €20k, dropping to increments of €10k as the auction proceeded. The property was placed on the open market at €1,060,000 and bidding continued until it sold at the price of €1,180,000.

This beautifully appointed property was purchased by an international family and we wish them every success in the future.

Philip Byrne commented after the sale that “Unique properties such as this rarely come to the market. This auction shows that there is plenty of demand for large country houses in good locations”.

Solicitors acting for the vendor were McCarton & Burke Solicitors, Dublin 7.
